About Hunter's Heart Brittanys: Our
Guarantee |
|
|
Our
dogs are part of our lives and part of our home. We
are committed to improve the breed for hunting ability, trainability,
intelligence and temperament.
A
dog is a lifetime commitment. We will help you with any care or
training concerns for the duration of your dog's lifetime. If we
don't know the answer to your question, we will do our best to find out. Also, we would appreciate it if you would keep in touch with
us to let us know what happens with your new puppy. |
We require that all puppy purchasers sign
the standard non-breeding contract issued by the Canadian Kennel Club.
Our main goal is to ensure that future breedings resulting from our
Brittanys are good matings that benefit rather than harm the breed. Unless the non-breeding is lifted,
any offspring will not be eligible for registration with the CKC or the
AKC. As per Canadian law, unregistered puppies may not be described or
sold as “purebred”. If you breed your dog while the non-breeding
agreement is in effect, 75% of the proceeds from the sale of the puppies
is owing to Hunter’s Heart Brittanys, within 1 month of the date the
puppy is transferred to its new owner. You will be solely responsible
for the care and disposition of all of the puppies. It will be mandatory
that your dog be spayed or neutered, and that proof of the procedure
from the veterinarian involved be received by Hunter’ s Heart within 4
months of the last day the dog was bred. To lift the non-breeding
agreement, your dog must be at least 2 years of age. We expect that your
dog will be OFA certified good or better (for hip dysplasia) or obtain
equivalent certification by PennHip. Your dog must have a valid CERF
number (certification that the dog has no heritable eye diseases on
examination by a vet.) Your dog must not suffer from epilepsy, or
temperament problems. And your dog meets the breed standard for Brittany
Spaniels. (To determine that your dog meets the breed standard, he/she
must either have achieved a show championship from any of the following
organizations: the Canadian Kennel Club, The American Kennel Club, FCI
(Federation Canine International), or IABCA (International All-Breed
Canine Association); or Hunter’s Heart must examine the dog and agree
that it meets the standard.) At this time the CKC charges a fee to do the paperwork for lifting the non-breeding agreement. You would be responsible for any fee and for completing the required paperwork. |
